Skin Testing @ ScullyScully

Skin Testing Policy

If you’re new to ScullyScully or haven’t had a colour service with us in the last six months, you will need to undergo a complimentary skin test at least 48 hours before your appointment. This ensures your safety and it is your responsibility to book and attend ahead of your visit.

Missed Skin Test

If you fail to complete a skin test at least 48 hours before your appointment, we regret that your appointment will need to be cancelled and rescheduled. A 50% fee for the colour service will apply. Please refer to our cancellation terms for further details.

Why the Skin Test is Needed

The skin test checks for allergies to hair colour ingredients, which can cause redness, itching, swelling, or other reactions. If you’ve previously experienced reactions to henna tattoos or hair dyes, please inform the salon when booking your appointment.

If a Reaction Occurs

We recommend scheduling your skin test well in advance to allow time to address potential allergic reactions. If a reaction occurs, we will not proceed with your colour service. Our team will happily discuss alternative options with you. If you have any known allergies, please notify us when booking.

Hair Colour Policy for Minors

We are unable to offer colour services to individuals under the age of 16. Minors must wait until they are 16 years old to undergo a skin test. Once the test is completed, a 48-hour waiting period is required before their first colour appointment.

Booking Your Appointment @ ScullyScully

We offer several ways to schedule your appointment:

For first-time visits, we recommend booking at least 2–4 weeks in advance, especially if you have a preferred stylist or service, to secure your ideal date and time. To maintain continuity, consider scheduling your next appointment before leaving the salon.

Appointment Reminders

You will receive a reminder text message two salon working days prior to your scheduled appointment. For example, if your appointment is on a Monday, the reminder will be sent on the preceding Friday. These reminders are intended to confirm your appointment time and allow you to confirm your attendance.

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please contact the salon directly at 01483 416600 to cancel or reschedule.

Kindly note that only a confirmation response of ‘YES’ will be processed by our system. Additional messages or queries cannot be received via the text service.

Cancellation & No-Show Policy

At ScullyScully, we value your time and strive to provide exceptional service to all our clients. To ensure smooth scheduling and fairness, we have established the following cancellation and no-show policy:

Cancellation Policy

  • Notice Period: We kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to change or cancel your appointment. This allows us to offer the time to other clients.
  • How to Cancel: Cancellations can be made by calling 01483 416600 or in person. Outside of salon hours, you may email us at reception.scullyscully@live.co.uk; however, please confirm by phone during salon hours.
  • Cancellation Fees: Failure to provide 48 hours’ notice will result in a charge of 50% of the service price. For weddings, proms, and block bookings, a minimum of 20 days’ notice is required. Failure to attend without notice will incur a 100% charge of the service fee.
  • Deposit Requirements: If you fail to cancel within the required timeframe, a 50% deposit will be required for your next booking. Repeat no-show clients may be asked to pay a 100% deposit or may be refused further bookings.

~Additional Deposit Requirements:

A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking for the following services:

  • Colour Corrections
  • Balayage

For wedding hair services, a deposit of 20% of the quoted price is required.

Deposits will be deducted from the final cost of your appointment. However, deposits are retained if you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice.

Adjustments to Scheduled Services

If you choose not to proceed with part of your scheduled service upon arrival, or if lateness prevents us from completing the full service, the full cost of the original booking will remain payable.

Repeat Cancellations

  • Frequent Cancellations: If you cancel 3 or more appointments within 48 hours of your scheduled time, we may require a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the service cost to secure future bookings.
  • Future Appointments: Repeated cancellations may result in limited availability when scheduling future appointments.

No-Show Policy

  • Missed Appointments: If you fail to attend your scheduled appointment without notifying us, a no-show fee of 100% of the service cost will be charged.
  • Repeated No-Shows: After 2 missed appointments, we may require a non-refundable deposit to secure future bookings. Additionally, any existing future appointments may be automatically cancelled at our discretion.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation, as these policies help us maintain a high standard of service and accommodate all clients effectively.

In the Event We Need to Cancel

If we need to cancel your appointment due to unforeseen circumstances, such as stylist illness, we will make every effort to reschedule your booking at a convenient time. However, no compensation can be offered if rescheduling is not possible.

Policy for Late Arrivals & Service Adjustments

At ScullyScully, we value your time and strive to provide exceptional service to all our clients. To ensure smooth scheduling and fairness, we have established the following cancellation and no-show policy:

Arriving late for your appointment may limit the time available for your service. While we will do our best to accommodate you, adjustments to the service may be necessary to fit the remaining time.

If you decide not to proceed with part of your scheduled service upon arrival, or if lateness prevents us from completing the full service, the full cost of the original booking will still apply.

If your stylist becomes unavailable, we may transfer your appointment to another stylist, subject to availability.

Salon Etiquette

At ScullyScully, we aim to provide a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all clients.

  • Personal Belongings: Due to limited space, we kindly ask clients to bring only essential items. While we make every effort to keep belongings safe, we cannot accept responsibility for damage or loss of personal items, including clothing and umbrellas.
  • Children: Children must be accompanied by an adult and remain well-behaved during the visit.
  • Respectful Environment: We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for abusive language or behavior toward staff. Offenders will be asked to leave immediately.

Complaints Procedure

At ScullyScully, we strive to deliver exceptional service and ensure 100% customer satisfaction. However, we understand that there may be occasions when things don’t go as expected.

If you are dissatisfied with any service or treatment, we encourage you to reach out to us directly. You can contact us by phone at 01483 416600, by email at reception.scullyscully@live.co.uk, or visit the salon in person. Our staff will be happy to discuss your concerns and resolve the issue promptly.

Should you wish to address a concern, please do so within 14 days from the date of your original service. We will assess your hair and carry out any necessary corrections at no additional charge. Please note that our complaints policy covers only the rectification of the originally agreed service, and does not apply to a change of mind after the service has been completed.

Payment

We accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as cash. Please note that we do not accept American Express.

Tips and Gratuities Policy

At ScullyScully, we are deeply grateful for any tips or gratuities given by our clients. While tips are entirely at your discretion, we want to ensure that the process is as convenient and transparent as possible.

  1. Payment Method for Tips:

Tips may be given in cash or added to the total bill at the time of payment via credit or debit card. However, please note that we are unable to process tips through card payments unless we have the exact change available in the till. Additionally, we cannot process a separate transaction for a tip once the original payment has been completed, nor can we guarantee the ability to provide change or split notes due to the same limitation.

  1. Tip Allocation:

If you wish to leave a tip, please specify who you would like the tip to be given to, and we will ensure it is directed accordingly. If you choose to add a tip to your card payment, we will also need to know the exact amount and the individual you wish to tip.

  1. No Obligation:

While our team greatly appreciates gratuities, there is no obligation to leave a tip. Clients are welcome to offer a tip based on their satisfaction with the service provided.

We thank you for your understanding and generosity.
